Hospital Ward

For patient monitoring before and after surgery with a dedicated nurse to ensure the highest quality of care. Along with our unwell patients who need hospital attention and may be staying for intravenous fluid therapy and further treatments or ongoing care.

Visiting Veterinary Specialists

Our regular visiting Veterinary Specialists can perform specialised procedures in house. This creates an exceptional relationship and communication with our specialist's for those tricky case'€™s, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Ricky Cashmore BVSc FANZCVS (SAS) is a registered small animal specialist surgeon, who regularly attends the clinic to consult on and perform specialist surgeries. Techniques include TPLO's, arthroscopies, and more.

 

In-House Bloods Machine

Our in-house bloods machine can provide real time results for analysis and treatment plans.

  • pre-anaesthetic screening
  • snake bite detection
  • liver disease
  • diabetes
  • early kidney failure detection

 

Digital X-Ray

Our digital Xray machine is the most up-to-date equipment to provide the fastest and clearest results to aid in the diagnosis of the following problems:

  • Fractures
  • Arthritis
  • Foreign bodies
  • Neoplasia
  • Contrast studies
  • Abdominal  and Soft Tissue imaging

These high quality digital images allow for sending these views very quickly for assessment with a specialist where required

Laboratory and Pathology

In-house analysis via our bloods machine or microscope, plus external laboratory available for further investigations by use of:

  • Microscopic slides
  • Blood analysis
  • Tissue samples
  • Swabs
  • We can even DNA test to confirm your dog’s breed

 

Ultrasound

Our in house ultrasound allows us to see whats going on internally (the funnest times, when we are counting puppies). When required we also call in Dr Harold Pook for our more complex investigations.

 

Dentistry and Dental Radiography

For descaling and polishing teeth and extractions when required.

Just like in humans, the tips of the teeth only tell half the story the rest of the picture lies underneath the gums.  Only after radiology can we really tell what is happening.

 

Pet Birds, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Reptiles, Mice and more

We love all creatures great and small.  All small animals are welcomed and treated with expert care, feathered or furred.  We also have access to many specialists for review with our complex cases.

 

Wildlife

All wildlife can be brought to the clinic completely free of charge.  We regularly treat and assess wildlife before sending them onto careers to ensure the best outcome for their successful release back to he wild.

 

Puppy Pre-School

Torquay Puppy Pre-School offers a 4 week course in obedience and socialisation.  Our trainer teaches owners how to successfully integrate their puppy into the family, as well as positive socialisation with other puppies. As well as positive socialisation with other puppies in a safe, controlled environment.

The puppy school has been operating successfully since 1994 with many of our clients returning with subsequent puppies.  All training is based on current positive reinforcement methods which are easy for the owner to grasp and fun for both the owner and the dog, results are seen very quickly.

All puppies must be vaccinated prior to attending.

Lynne White (our trainer) also offers a dog training service with in home consultations, which many clients access to further their training after completing puppy school or for particular problems.

Cat Boarding Facilities

Our serviced apartments for cats will keep your cats happy and safe while you are away with constant attention throughout the day and of course a Vet on hand at all times.

Kitten Adoption

Over the summer period particularly we receive many unwanted kittens from undesexed cats.  We ALWAYS find homes for our kittens so please phone the Clinic if you are interested in adopting one.  They are fully vaccinated, wormed, desexed and microchipped. Please remember to desex your cats before the age of 6 months to limit our numbers of unwanted kittens
